Overview for February 2012
During this cold spell (or us in the Northern hemisphere) we are still living with the aftermath of many of the major shifts which began happening last year or even before. This February is widely thought to be quite a volatile month astrologically. The sign of Aquarius is associated with justice and fairness, and one of the things which is happening is a re-balancing; whether it is an uprising against oppression or simply drawing attention to practices which disadvantage one part of our community while giving another what they already have more than they need of.
Two of the 'male' planets go backwards - Mars continues its retrograde journey through Virgo (until April 13, 2012) and Saturn begins its own on February 7th (until June 25, 2012). These both concern making changes to rules and structures in society, even if sometimes rockily.
Added to this, a rough New Moon in Aquarius just before the month began, was about balance in societies across the world and the transformations need on a global scale - which, at the first instance, can. of course, only be done personally. All of this is unfolding in the here and now.
A Full Moon in Leo on February 7th brings into focus the contrast between our personal (and sometimes selfish and self-serving) needs, and what we can bring to our wider society. And then a New Moon in Pisces on February 21st gives the depth of meaning to the turmoil and conflict we may have felt about our meaning and direction in life, earlier in the month and year. Lastly, the recent Chinese New Year ushered in the Year of the Dragon, which is among many other things about taking chances and fulfilling our own dreams. It's all about the balance!

ARIES
Finally your love life starts to become a little more straightforward. But hold your Valentine's celebration early (9th) if you want to take the lead and put things on a new footing. From 15th take care of health matters - an old issue could return so keep a look out and be pre-emptive.

TAURUS
Your home and personal life is anything but quiet as someone else's emotional needs dominate at the start. Then, you start to doubt your career direction around 8th. By mid-month you realise you need a rational approach and by the 23rd you are ready to face any battles which may arise!

GEMINI
If you have the chance to travel somewhere early in the month then do; you need to expand your mind ready for changes happening from mid-month. After 13th you'll need to take a wholistic approach to work matters. In fact, you need to start incorporating all of your past experience.

CANCER
This month you are expanding your horizons, especially where learning something new is concerned. Things come out into the open you would rather have suppressed, but you will feel the better for it. Someone challenges your authority from 15th. Think: is it all that important?

LEO
This is a romantic period for you. Don't be afraid to use your imagination to please a loved one; it will reap rewards. Beware of a sticking point around 16th; you'll have to work hard on yourself to be flexible but will soon see the advantages. If you can. plan something exciting around 22nd!

VIRGO
You may feel at the start that everything you do revolves around friends, family and partners, and indeed, there are quite some demands to be met. But after 13th it is as though the doors are thrown open and your imagination can function again. Try to do something wild around 16th!

LIBRA
The rule book is re-written this month; indeed, it needs to be, because the old one no longer works for you. From 7th you'll need to re-think one close relationship; from 15th, you'll have less desire to control one situation. And from 22nd, you'll realise that a new approach is needed.

SCORPIO
A sense of frustration could mean that you don't appreciate some of the positives due to happen to you this month. You will need to focus more on what you find pleasurable. Bear with it as this eases from 15th, when your energy starts to be 'freed up' and you can see a bigger picture.

SAGITTARIUS
This hasn't been an easy year for you so far, and you are wondering whether or not some big changes are due. You do need a new challenge; boredom is never your friend. But this may not involve anything as far-reaching as you are considering. Exercise caution; count to at least ten!

CAPRICORN
Itchy feet cause you to verge on making unusually rash decisions as the month begins. You will get the opportunity to be away from it all soon, but just now there is much to deal with. On 15th you make a long-overdue decision regarding someone who has been close. You won't regret it.

AQUARIUS
A big decision at the start or just before means that you have to put in some hard work towards effecting the long-needed changes in your life. Things are due to get easier, and an unusual idea around 8th could have long-term positive reverberations. Watch your health from 16th - 18th.

PISCES
With Venus in your sign until mid-month, this is a time when you can really work on your self-confidence as others will see the best in you and give all the encouragement you need. After this you can concentrate your mind on all-important changes in the way you deal with others.
